Subscription Plans & Management
Magic Mailer uses a subscription model with tiered plans. Here's everything you need to know about choosing, managing, and changing your plan.
What's Included in a Subscription?
Every plan includes:
- Mailer credits (stamps) — A monthly allocation of cards you can send
- Birthday Finder credits — For automatic birthday discovery
- Upload limit — How many contacts you can upload per billing period
- Contact limit — The total number of contacts you can store in your account at any time
Higher tiers get more credits, higher limits, and lower overage rates.
Credits reset each billing period (monthly or annually, depending on your plan).
Choosing a Plan
When subscribing, you'll see a checkout modal with:
- Available plan tiers and pricing
- A recommended tier based on your contact count (if you have more than 200 contacts, a higher tier is suggested)
Managing Your Subscription
Go to Settings → Subscriptions & Billing to manage your plan.
Active Subscriptions
Shows your current plan name, price, billing period, and status.
Switch Plan
Upgrade or downgrade to a different tier. See Upgrading or Downgrading Your Plan for details on how changes are applied.
Cancel Subscription
Cancels your subscription at the end of the current billing period. Your status changes to "Ending" — you keep full access until the period is over.
Undo Cancellation
Changed your mind? If your subscription is in "Ending" status, you can undo the cancellation and keep your plan.
Past Subscriptions
A history of your previous subscriptions.
Transactions
Your payment history with amounts and dates.
Subscription Statuses
- Active — In good standing, everything working normally
- Trialing — In a trial period
- Ending — You've canceled, but the subscription is still active until the end of the billing period
- Canceled — Fully canceled; credits are locked
- Past Due — A payment failed; the system is retrying
- Incomplete — Your first payment didn't go through
Do I Need a Subscription?
You can create an account, upload contacts, and browse designs without a subscription. A subscription is required to:
- Process contacts (address validation + birthday discovery)
- Approve and send card batches
